Job Summary

We are actively seeking energetic, detail-oriented, and highly organized individuals to join our retail floor team. As an entry-level Store Clerk, you will be trained to become a master of merchandise placement and customer support. You will serve as an in-aisle ambassador, delivering the signature neatness and hospitality that sets JCPenney apart in the department store industry. This is an active, physical role perfect for those who love multitasking and seeing the immediate results of their hard work.

Comprehensive Responsibilities

• Aisle Maintenance (Zoning): Execute continuous visual recovery, pulling merchandise to the front of the shelves, organizing apparel racks, and ensuring pricing tags are accurate.
• Freight Processing: Unload weekly delivery trucks and push new merchandise—from home goods to family apparel—to the sales floor swiftly using rolling carts.
• Customer Interaction: Proactively approach browsing shoppers to offer assistance, locate specific sizes, and answer basic front-store questions.
• Front End Support: Cross-train on the cash register to jump in and assist the checkout team when lines get long during peak shopping hours.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age (with valid work permit) or 18 years of age upon application.

• Must possess an excellent eye for detail and the physical stamina to walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, shifting quickly between stocking shelves and ringing up customers.
